Walking Small Group:
Hopefully you will be aware of the “small groups” which are being set up and are still developing at St John’s and St Luke’s as we emerge from the long months of Covid: if not and you’re interested, do please speak to Simon, Sarah or Laura about what’s on offer.
After a long period of reflection on what small group I might like to be part of - or could even offer to lead - I’ve come with up with an idea, in consultation with Simon, of a midweek Walking Group. I don’t know about you but for me, I see and appreciate God again and again in the miracle that is His Creation when I am out walking, be it the coast, mountains, forests - or closer to home, the Nidd Gorge and local countryside. I’m not terribly fit but enjoy walking so am intending walks to be between 4 to 6 miles in length. And in the first instance would be looking for us to walk locally together. The group would meet for a walk once a month, with Tuesday, September 7th our first “foray”. I’m thinking we might head off around 11, take a packed lunch and be home between 2 and 3. There is so much to give thanks to God for and my hope is that these “excursions” will offer manifold opportunities for us to appreciate God’s creation and give prayerful thanks whilst enjoying each other’s company and getting some fresh air.
If you are interested and would like to find out more, please email me: janereichert@hotmail.com . I’d love to hear from you. Jane Reichert
