Thy Kingdom Come - ***UPDATED

We will be starting with an ASCENSION DAY PRAYER MEETING on 13th May at 7.30pm at St Luke's Church. Please book your place via Eventbrite. There will be daily videos on our Facebook page and on Sunday 23rd May we will be holding an OUTDOOR joint worship service at St John's and everyone is welcome to join and sing!

On the evening of 23rd there is also a joint Thy Kingdom Come service with St Marks, Kairos Network Church and Harrogate Vineyard being held at St Mark's at 6.30pm. Details of booking to follow.

We have some fantastic resources available from both churches:

A Novena to help guide you through the 11 days of prayer:

A prayer journal to give to 5 others, a beautiful gift to encourage them to come to God:

And for families, there are prayer maps and prayer books:

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. Christians from more than 170 countries and 65 denominations have taken part.

Thy Kingdom Come runs between Ascension and Pentecost, and in 2021 will take place from 13-23 May.

During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who takes part will:

  • Deepen their own relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Pray for 5 friends or family to come to faith in Jesus (or to come back to faith)

  • Pray for the empowerment of the Spirit that we would be effective in our witness

What started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. Thy Kingdom Come continues to grow, especially in its ecumenical reach of different churches and denominations involved. In particular, both the Methodist and Roman Catholic churches have a more formal part to play, with their own dedicated resources and videos being produced for their national networks.
